Could be related to Bug report 120 - Torch flares sometimes shine through walls.

If this is not the first version of AL/AF you tried, did it work in a previous version?

Also, do you have a savegame where this is easy to reproduce? Does it happen for all spells?

I wasn't that far in the game, when I used the previous version. But it also happens with 1.0.1

Here is the savegame: (link expired) Sorry, you'll need to go one level up.

You don't have to cast a spell, you can draw anything while in "magic mode" to cause this.

I've pushed a fix for this to the source code repository and it will be part of the next release (1.0.3+)

The issue was updated with the following change(s):
